Denmark's Minister of Digitalization, Caroline Stage Olsen, plans to phase out Microsoft programs in the Ministry of Digitalization.
The ministry will transition to open-source software, starting with replacing Office 365 with Libre Office for about half the staff.
This shift is part of a new digitalization strategy focusing on digital sovereignty agreed by the state, regions, and municipalities.
All staff members are expected to be using open-source solutions by the fall if the trial succeeds.
